Part I: About the Station
Give the title of the module/station
Station 8: Parts of Speech Across Languages
Who was in your group?
Me Myself anf I.
A (group) description of what the station was
I was assigned an activity that compared the different parts of speech between English and Spanish.
A (group) description of what your group did
I found an article about the Chile earthquake in English and then found the same article in Spanish. I then made the different parts of speech different colors for both of the paragraphs. I also used wordle to make word clouds for each paragraph.
What did you as an individual do? (what role did you play?)

Part II: Your Work
Your station gave you a scenario and you were told what to do. In paragraph form, write up your answers to the questions you were asked (or give the information you were told to give). Use screenshots, screencaptures and other evidence to back up our words.
Give group answers, but add your own perspectives as necessary (you can add to your group's response).

The magnitude-8.8 earthquake that rocked the west coast of Chile last month was violent enough to move the city of Concepcion at least 10 feet to the west and the capital, Santiago, about 11 inches to the west-southwest, researchers said.

A poco más de una semana de ser azotados por un terremoto de 8.8 grados y los sucesivos tsunamis, algunos chilenos tratan de normalizar sus actividades, mientras otros siguen esperando la ayuda.

There are lots of nouns in each paragraph, but much more articles in the English paragraph compared to the Spanish. I think the Spanish language tries to keep the key words and concepts to shrink the paragraphs. For example, there were more words in the English Wordle cloud than in the Spanish Worlde cloud.
Part III: What did you think?
Answer the following questions individually:
What did you like about this activity, if you were the student? What about if you were the teacher?
Answer the following questions individually:

It was ver interactive and made class go by fast. As a teacher I would be able to tell if the students are learning something valuable.
What did you not like about this activity, if you were the student? What about if you were the teacher?
It was time-consuming and a little advanced. As a teacher, it is a lot to have to grade.
What were the most interesting and/or surprising parts of this activity?
This project helped me learn the comparisons between the language which is something i have never really studied.
